Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns’ offseason has been a roller coaster ride despite not many changes being done to the roster. They made a run at acquiring Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets, but after Deandre Ayton signed an offer sheet with the Indiana Pacers, Durant was no longer attainable.
Aaron Holiday, JaVale McGee and Frank Kaminsky departed, with Damion Lee as their only new addition. They have plenty of depth to overcome the losses, but standing idly by could push them behind a few of the other contenders in the Western Conference.
Despite having the best record in the NBA last season, the Suns could use an upgrade in some areas. Their bench could certainly use an upgrade and Jordan Clarkson would be a big upgrade in that regard.
Phoenix received underwhelming production from their second unit, especially from the backcourt. They were below average in scoring and playmaking off the bench, two areas that Clarkson would instantly improve.

Shot creation is also something that Phoenix is lacking and Clarkson can provide that in spades. As long as Cameron Payne isn’t included in the package, he can still be the lead playmaker with the second unit.
Landry Shamet can provide 3-point shooting and spacing with Dario Saric, Bismack Biyombo and Jock Landale filling in the frontcourt minutes with Cam Johnson if he isn’t inserted into the starting five.

When you have reached the status that the Phoenix Suns have, even incremental improvements could be huge. Clarkson would certainly be that, and potentially more, should he be added to their rotation.
