2. Tyrese Haliburton, Indiana Pacers
One of the bigger trades ahead of the 2021 NBA deadline was completed between the Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers. Domantas Sabonis was the headliner heading out west, while Tyrese Haliburton was the centerpiece heading to the midwest.
It was shocking to see the Kings part ways with Haliburton, who was coming into his own. Many people believe he is a future All-Star and the Pacers are now going to be the ones to reap that production.
Indiana may not be competitive when it comes to the standings this season, but they are putting together an impressive group of young players. Tyrese Haliburton is the centerpiece of that rebuild and will emerge this season as an All-Star candidate.
In 26 games with Indiana last season, Haliburton averaged 17.5 points per game with a shooting split of .502/.416/.849, which comes out to a true shooting percentage of 62.9.

To put into perspective how good that is, it would have ranked him 13th in the league during the 2021-22 season with the first point guard appearing on the list being Trae Young, who was 37th.
After having a full offseason to learn Rick Carlisle’s system and a supporting cast around him that fits his style of play, Tyrese Haliburton could really take his game to the next level in a full season as the lead playmaker. The Indiana Pacers may not win much but they will be a lot of fun to watch with the young players they have on the roster.
