Sometimes, a poor postseason showing exposes a flaw in a player. When that happens, it can be hard for them to shake that lasting image. If they can’t be relied on in the postseason, what is their ultimate purpose to an NBA team?
With that in mind, Duncan Robinson may struggle to shed the reputation he earned in the 2021-22 playoffs. He was such a defensive liability for the Heat that they eventually removed him from the rotation.
Now, it’s hard to conclusively say that he’ll earn a meaningful role on an NBA team.

Moreover, Robinson’s $16.9 million annual contract looks pretty burdensome if he isn’t playoff-proof. If the Heat want to move on from Robinson, they may need to attach sweeteners to his contract in order to do so.
