Why The Cleveland Cavaliers Do The Deal
To be sure, the Cavaliers will have exhausted their reserve of draft capital following this trade. With that said, they’ll also likely be one of the best teams in the NBA. What do they need draft capital for?
It so happens that Wiggins projects as the perfect fit for this roster. Following the Mitchell deal, the Cavaliers have one of the best backcourts in the NBA between Spida and Darius Garland. Furthermore, they have one of the league’s best big man duos in Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley.
On the other hand, their wing rotation is lacking. Cedi Osman is solid, but he’s not exactly inspiring. On the other hand, Isaac Okoro’s three-point shooting is yet to come along in the NBA. All things considered, the Warriors could use an upgrade in the wing department.
Wiggins would be a tremendous one. In fact, he’s emerged as one of the best 3-and-D wings in the NBA, and he provides a hint of shot creation to spare.

All told, Wiggins could be the final touch to this Cavaliers rebuild. If history is any indication, that should be worth its weight in first-round picks.
