Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal
It may not be possible to have too many 3-and-D wings in 2022. On the other hand, if it is, the Suns may qualify as currently constructed.
Outside of Crowder, they have Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Torrey Craig. Bridges is perhaps the best player in that archetype in the entire league, while Johnson is quickly emerging as one of the league’s most reliable floor-spacers.
As of now, Craig is probably the odd man out, but he’s still a solid veteran. On the other hand, the Suns are a bit light on reserve playmaking.
LeVert may not be a star, but he is likely to be an upgrade over Cameron Payne in that regard. He’d slide right into this roster as the Suns’ sixth man. Realistically, that’s a perfect role for Levert.
