Why The Cleveland Cavaliers Do The Deal
As mentioned, this deal has as much to do with Donovan Mitchell as it does with Caris LeVert.
Mitchell isn’t a perfect player either. He can be prone to tunnel vision on offense, and more significantly, he can be a major liability on defense. He’s also something LeVert isn’t – a true, tested NBA star.
Mitchell can generate baskets at will. Meanwhile, point guard Darius Garland is fantastic at creating open looks for both himself and his teammates. Finally, Evan Mobley likely has some untapped offensive potential to explore as well.
It feels like LeVert is the odd man out. On the other hand, Jae Crowder would fit this roster like a glove. He’s exactly the type of 3-and-D wing the Cavaliers are missing.

Finally, if Dario Saric can bounce back from injury, he’ll provide value as a floor-spacing big man as well.
Can the Suns really afford to part with them both?
