Why The Cleveland Cavaliers Do The Deal

As it stands, this Cavaliers squad has an interesting construction. It may, in fact, be missing a piece or two.

Don’t get us wrong – the Cavaliers will be competitive next season. Mitchell and Darius Garland will be one of the best backcourts in the NBA, and good luck scoring inside with Allen and Mobley patrolling the paint.

Still, this group is wanting for 3-and-D wings. Caris Leveret has the size for the role, but he’s not a known defender, and his floor spacing varies. Cedi Osman fits the bill, but with the league moving towards such players, he doesn’t feel like a sufficient answer on his own.

By contrast, Anunoby does. All of which is a convoluted way of saying this – he could be the missing piece on this Cavaliers team.
