Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal
The Washington Wizards have been painfully mediocre for a painfully long time. For that reason, plenty of fans would call for them to trade star guard Bradley Beal and rebuild.
Perhaps that would be a sensible course of action. On the other hand, it doesn’t appear to be one the Wizards are entertaining. After all, this organization opted to extend Bradley Beal’s contract this summer.
That’s before mentioning their acquisition of Kristaps Porzingis at last year’s trade deadline. The Wizards appear intent on staying the course. If that’s the case, Julius Randle could be a great fit for this squad.
At least, the 2020-21 version would be. During that season, Randle was one of the best floor-spacing forwards in the NBA. Randle is a strong playmaker and inside scorer, but not strong enough to compensate for his putrid 2021-22 shooting.

Still, if the Wizards are intent on staying as competitive as possible, it should be worth their time to gamble on Randle at least splitting the difference between his last two seasons in 2022-23.
Should the Knicks really gamble otherwise?
