Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal
Sure, Cam Reddish hasn’t worked out in practice yet -but in theory, he’s exactly what the Lakers need.
After all, the idea of an actualized Reddish remains enticing. If he can develop into the 3-and-D wing with secondary shot creating chops that many envisioned him being in high school, he’ll be a perfect player to put alongside LeBron James.
Granted, that’s quite the gamble for the Lakers to make. Moreover, Reddish was already handed that role on Trae Young’s heliocentric Atlanta Hawks, and he failed to live up to it.
On the other hand, Young is no James. The Lakers’ more structured environment could bode well for at least maximizing Reddish as a complementary player.

This would be a make-or-break stop for Reddish. The Lakers could really use a player in his hypothetical mold. If he can’t live up to expectations in Hollywood, it’s hard to imagine where he might find his next role.
Still, his potential ought to intrigue the Lakers. Should the Knicks really be passing up on it?
