Why The LA Clippers Do The Deal

In simple terms, yes. This deal accomplishes the same goal for the Clippers. 

After all, they are stacked with 3-and-D wings. Conveniently enough, both of their star players fit that description – they just both happen to be shot creators as well. 

Otherwise, Robert Covington, Nic Batum, and Terrance Mann all fit that description. Between them, Leonard, and George, it’s hard to envision a place for Morris Sr. in this team’s rotation. 

On the other hand, it’s easy to imagine one for both Powell and Ntilkina. The former will simply be Zubac’s backup – it’s not a glamorous role, but it’s one he can ably fill.

As this roster is constructed, the Clippers don’t have a better man for the job. Finally, Ntilkina is a bit of a 3-and-D wing himself who can also handle some point guard reps on occasion.

None of these players will make or break either of these teams, but they could play a key role in their success – hence the term “role players”.
