Atlanta Hawks Receive: G Landry Shamet, F/C Dario Saric, F Cam Johnson, 2024 First-Round Pick (PHO)
Phoenix Suns Receive: F/C John Collins
If the Hawks did make this deal, it wouldn’t be the first big splash they made this summer.
In case you missed it, they sent the San Antonio Spurs three unprotected first-round picks in exchange for Dejounte Murray. It was one of the summer’s biggest trades. With that said, time will tell us how it works out for both sides.
The logic behind it, on Atlanta’s side, is interesting. On the one hand, landing an elite point-of-attack defender to make up for Trae Young’s considerable weakness on that end of the floor was a logical decision.
On the other hand, Murray is good at just about every facet of basketball – besides shooting. Unfortunately, that could be an issue alongside the ball-dominant Young.
