Collin Sexton To Washington Wizards
Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: G/F Will Barton, F Rui Hachimura
Washington Wizards Receive: G Collin Sexton
On the subject of logjams, the Washington Wizards may have done something few would have thought possible: they may have acquired too many talented young wings.
Kyle Kuzma has the most name recognition of the group. He’s developed into a dynamic two-way forward in this league.
On the other hand, Deni Avdija may be their most valuable young wing player. He already looks like a near-elite defensive wing: if his offense rounds into form, the sky is the limit for him.
Corey Kispert didn’t wow anybody during his rookie campaign, but he still holds the potential to be a high-end shooter in this league. Meanwhile, incoming rookie Johnny Davis will likely soak up some time at the 3 as well. Does something have to give?

Something certainly does in Cleveland. Somehow, Collin Sexton is still a restricted free agent. By now, it’s obvious that the Cavaliers only have so much interest in the young scoring guard. Why not orchestrate a sign-and-trade somewhere?
This one ought to benefit both sides. Last year, the Cavs started 7-footer Lauri Markkanen at the small forward spot. They can still use those lineups, but Hachimura is a more natural wing. Meanwhile, the Wizards get to pair Bradley Beal with another dynamic offensive guard in Sexton.
