Of course, this deal is unlikely to happen for one simple reason. In all likelihood, another deal between the Utah Jazz and the New York Knicks will stand in its way. 

Surely, you know what we’re talking about. Everyone and their mother is expecting Donovan Mitchell to land on the New York Knicks this summer. 

On the other hand, something seems to be stalling a deal. It’s a bit puzzling. The Jazz know what assets the Knicks have, and by now, the Knicks surely know what they’re willing to give up. How does a rumor persist for so long without coming to fruition? 

We’re not ruling out the possibility of a Mitchell-to-New York scenario. It may well be that the two sides are hammering out the details on a deal that remains inevitable.

At the same time, if Mitchell is dealt elsewhere. that doesn’t preclude these two teams from making another trade.
