Every NBA team ultimately has the same goal – an NBA championship. The only question is whether they’re aiming to win one now or later. 

One of a general manager’s main jobs is to gauge how close their team is to accomplish that goal. Some teams may be a piece away. Teams that are much further than that ought to consider at least turning an eye to the future. 

The Phoenix Suns are not one of those teams. Still, for a while, it looked like they might implode this summer.
