Miami Heat
Miami Heat Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
Utah Jazz Receive: G Tyler Herro, F Duncan Robinson, G Nikola Jovic, 2023 First-Round Pick, 2027 First-Round Pick, 2029 First-Round Pick
The Miami Heat likely have the longest odds of landing Donovan Mitchell out of all of his preferred landing spots. They would have to get really creative to make a package as appealing as what the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks can offer.
The strength of the Heat’s deal depends almost solely on what the Jazz think about Tyler Herro. If Danny Ainge believes that he has another level to reach and can turn into an All-Star, then Miami’s package is very attractive. If they believe he is near his potential and isn’t going to be more than an impact Sixth Man, he isn’t as strong of a centerpiece.
The Jazz are also forced to take on the contract of Duncan Robinson, who has four years and $74.2 million remaining on his deal. To take that on would normally require some compensation in itself, but the Heat just don’t have much to offer.
2022 first-round pick Nikola Jovic is on his way to Salt Lake City along with all of the draft picks that Miami can offer. A shrewd move ahead of the deadline enabled them to open up another draft pick, as they are sending their picks in 2023, 2027 and 2029 out west.

Alas, that likely isn’t enough to move the needle. Utah will likely ask for Bam Adebayo to be included, but that is more than likely a non-starter for the Heat. Without his inclusion, Miami has arguably the weakest player package and the least draft capital.
