Utah Jazz Receive: G Russell Westbrook, G Cam Thomas, C Day’Ron Sharpe, 5 First-Round Draft Picks
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Ben Simmons, F Bojan Bogdanovic

Making a trade with the Brooklyn Nets is likely the most complicated of the three preferred destinations. The Designated Rookie rule comes into play, as no team can have more than two such players on the roster and only one can be acquired via trade.

The Nets already have one acquired via trade in Ben Simmons. So, to acquire Donovan Mitchell, they have to include him in the deal. There is a chance Utah does not want him on the roster given the fact that he missed the entire 2021-22 season and three seasons remaining on his contract.

If they do not want him, one team that would certainly love to acquire him is the Los Angeles Lakers. They need as much talent as possible and Simmons would be an excellent fit given the fact he has no issues deferring to other players and is an elite defender.

Utah comes away with the kind of draft capital that they have been seeking, receiving two first-round picks from the Lakers in 2027 and 2029.
