The Atlanta Hawks have been very active this NBA offseason on the trade market. They have reshaped their roster and are hoping that the moves they made not only help the team for the upcoming season but down the road as well.
The first deal that Atlanta made netted them All-Star point guard Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs.
It cost them three first-round picks and a pick swap, but Atlanta has one of the best backcourt duos in the league. Murray is a good complement for Trae Young given his defensive capabilities.
After that, the Hawks made a deal focused on shedding some long-term salary. They sent wing Kevin Huerter to the Sacramento Kings for Justin Holiday, Maurice Harkless and a future first-round pick. Holiday and Harkless are on expiring deals while Huerter’s four-year, fully guaranteed rookie extension begins this season.

Looking to further reshape the roster, the Hawks may not be done making trades. It wouldn’t hurt them to clear more salary in the future, but they could also look to further upgrade the team defensively.
If that is what they seek to do, targeting a player such as OG Anunoby of the Toronto Raptors would make sense. Anunoby has immense potential with prototypical two-way wing size and he would fit right in for Atlanta.
What would a deal centered between the Hawks and Raptors look like? Let’s take a look at this hypothetical deal that lands Anunoby in the Peach State.
