Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal

The New York Knicks do this deal for a simple reason: they aren’t using Cam Reddish anyway.

Last year, they landed him at the trade deadline. From that point forward, his minutes per game slipped until they were virtually non-existent. There’s no reason to believe Thibodeau will regard him any differently in 2022-23.

With that in mind, the Knicks at least get someone back here. Nunn is a solid, well-rounded offensive guard. Granted, the Knicks just added Jalen Brunson. Furthermore, they already have Derrick Rose. Is there room for Nunn?

Well, we know there isn’t for Reddish. Given the age gap, it’s entirely possible that Nunn will be a more impactful player than Rose in 2022-23.
