Any team acquiring Cam Reddish is acquiring him, in theory, more than in practice. In other words, they’ll be hoping he finally meets his potential.
After all, Reddish was highly regarded as one of the best high school basketball prospects in the world prior to being drafted in 2019. He’s supposed to be an elite 3-and-D wing with strong secondary shot-creating abilities. Unfortunately, he hasn’t lived up to that billing yet.
Still, at 21, he still absolutely has the opportunity to. Meanwhile, he just happens to be exactly the Lakers need – in theory.
After all, the player we’ve just described would be a perfect fit alongside both LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. If the Lakers intend to enter the 2022-23 season with that duo intact, finding players who complement them will be pivotal.
