Golden State Warriors Receive: F/C Kevin Love, 2025 First-Round Pick (CLE), 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – CLE)
Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: G/F Andrew Wiggins
When Andrew Wiggins and Kevin Love were last traded for each other, the league was a much different place.
LeBron James had just joined the Cleveland Cavaliers – for the second time. Meanwhile, the team had just selected Andrew Wiggins with the first overall pick.
This created a contradiction. The Cavaliers were clearly in win-now mode, having just re-acquired the best basketball player in the world. This left them in no position to develop a rookie, no matter where he was selected in the draft.
The Cavs acted swiftly in moving him for Love. His tenure as a star player on the Minnesota Timberwolves had expired after a string of mediocre seasons for the team.
