New York Knicks Receive: F Davis Bertans, C Dwight Powell, 2025 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2027 First-Round Pick (Swap – DAL)
Dallas Mavericks Receive: F Julius Randle
While the Dallas Mavericks do need to get Luka Doncic some help, at least they have a star to begin with. It feels like ages since the New York Knicks were able to say the same.
That’s partly due to bad luck, and partly due to bad decisions. The Knicks entered the 2019 draft with the best possible odds and walked away from it with the third overall pick.
RJ Barrett was a fine choice, but he hasn’t looked the part of a franchise-altering superstar yet.
Alternatively, drafting Frank Ntilikina with the 8th overall pick in 2017 was a colossal failure. He’s not even on the Knicks anymore, and how long he’ll remain in the NBA is anyone’s guess.

Should the Knicks really cut ties with him for draft capital?
