Portland Trail Blazers Receive: F Kevin Durant
If the Portland Trail Blazers want Kevin Durant, they’re going to have to throw the kitchen sink at the Nets.
This deal has them doing just that. A quick caveat: the Blazers can’t trade Simons until January 15th, having just extended his rookie contract. For this to work, they’ll need the Durant situation to drag itself out.
On a related note: the Durant situation may drag itself out. As it stands, it appears as though the cost of landing him may be prohibitive to prospective suitors.
After all, any team trading for Durant would have to feel confident that they had enough left over to contend after the deal.
