Indiana Pacers Receive: C Nikola Vucevic, 2023 First-Round Pick (POR via CHI), 2028 First-Round Pick (CHI)
Chicago Bulls Receive: C Myles Turner
At the risk of stating the obvious, the Indiana Pacers are not interested in landing Nikola Vucevic this summer.
Sometimes, rebuilding teams need to acquire an unnecessary veteran in order to land the assets they are looking for. That’s business in the NBA. More than anything, it’s unfortunate for the veteran.
No matter. The Pacers can’t hesitate to make a beneficial move with Vucevic’s preferences in mind. They could buy him out, sit him for the year, or just work him into the rotation in the interest of having their young players learn from him.
In any event, flipping Turner for two first-round picks should be worth the cost. On the other hand, maybe the Pacers would prefer not to induce the headache of acquiring an unhappy veteran.

Furthermore, it’s possible that they could get more value for Turner in a three-team deal. After all, Vucevic is still a quality veteran who someone could find a use for.
