San Antonio Spurs Receive: G Coby White, C Marko Simonovic
Chicago Bulls Receive: C Jakob Poeltl
This one may not be a blockbuster. It won’t have casual fans clamoring to their phones to fire off ill-informed Tweets. With that said, it would still have significant implications for the league.
Especially in the Eastern Conference. The Chicago Bulls had a solid 2021-22 season, but something was missing. That much was reflected when they were hoisted in the first round of the playoffs.
That something, in all likelihood, was rim protection. Nikola Vucevic, for all of his strengths, doesn’t provide much of it.
Furthermore, those strengths are mitigated in an offense centered around Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. With Vooch having a down year from distance, he had very little to contribute in the Windy City.

Poeltl would be a better fit for the Bulls. He’s one of the better defensive centers in the NBA. Meanwhile, the suddenly tanking Spurs feel like a perfect location for Coby White to revitalize his career.
After all, if Greg Popovich can’t get the most out of him, who knows who could.
