Washington Wizards
Utah Jazz Receive: F Kyle Kuzma, F Rui Hachimura, F Deni Avdija, F Corey Kispert, F/C Taj Gibson, 2025 First-Round Pick (WAS), 2027 First-Round Pick (WAS), 2029 First-Round Pick (WAS)
Washington Wizards Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
As with the last trade, we’ve got the team landing Donovan Mitchell dealing with a potential redundancy here. Also as with the last Atlanta Hawks trade, we don’t care.
A Washington Wizards backcourt tandem of Mitchell and Bradley Beal should be entirely sustainable. Each is a strong off-ball player, so they ought to complement each other when the other is working with the rock.
It’s hard to say which of these two would be the “point guard”, but it doesn’t matter. We’ll reiterate – this is the era of positionless basketball. Both Mitchell and Beal are natural-born scorers, but they also both have strong enough playmaking instincts that they can effectively run point by committee.
Meanwhile, the Jazz get a similar package here as they do in the Hawks trade. They’re only getting three first-round picks, but they’re also getting a number of young players.
LATEST NBA NEWS AND RUMORS: Several Teams Interested In Donovan Mitchell Trade Beyond Knicks
Like Collins, Kuzma is the most productive NBA player they’re receiving here. Don’t be surprised if the Washington Wizards move him by the season’s end in the event that this deal transpires.
