Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Patrick Beverle

Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey was the GM of the Houston Rockets for a long time. During that era, he made a franchise-altering trade for James Harden.

He was able to do the same thing in Philadelphia too. This summer, he’s been busy acquiring some of Harden’s old running mates in P.J. Tucker and Danuel House. Jokes about getting the band back together have run rampant on the internet.

This Utah Jazz deal has him acquiring an older member. James Harden ran with Patrick Beverley back before the band blew up. With that said, they still made beautiful music together.

Beverley would be a perfect final addition to this team’s guard rotation. Granted, it’s already got plenty of talent between Harden, Tyrese Maxey, and De’Anthony Melton.

With that said, each of those players is offensively minded. Landing an elite point-of-attack defender like Beverley diversifies their options.

On the other hand, the Utah Jazz ought to have little use for Beverley as a rebuilding team. They should be happy to acquire the 25-year-old Thybulle and 19-year-old Springer.
