Charlotte Hornets
This offseason has been a very difficult one for the Charlotte Hornets. They missed out on their No. 1 head coaching candidate, as Kenny Atkinson accepted the offer but not even a week later had a chance of heart. Steve Clifford, who was fired in 2018, is now coming back as head coach.
But, that is the least of their problems. The Charlotte Hornets’ roster could suffer a major blow as the future of Miles Bridges is very much up in the air. Bridges was charged with felony domestic violence and child abuse, which could effectively end his NBA career.
That is some big shoes to fill as Bridges is coming off of a career season in which he averaged 20.2 points and seven rebounds with 3.8 assists per game. Replacing that production will not be easy, but acquiring someone such as John Collins would certainly soften the blow.
Collins’ opportunities on offense have waned in recent seasons with the Hawks, but he has already proven that he can be a go-to player offensively.

During the 2019-20 season, he averaged 21.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. It was the second straight season he averaged 23.4 points and at least 11 rebounds per 36 minutes as he was ascending toward All-Star level.
Since then, his chances on offense have decreased every season. Getting a chance of scenery could do him well. With the Charlotte Hornets, LaMelo Ball is the star of the show at the point guard position, but there are more opportunities available.

Five players averaged at least 12.3 shots per game last season and there could be 15.2 shots per game up for grabs with Bridges potentially not coming back.
