2. Phoenix Suns

There have been a lot of discussions about the Phoenix Suns trying to acquire Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets. That is their No. 1 priority, but things could change quickly if Deandre Ayton signs an offer sheet with another team.

The Indiana Pacers have been the team mentioned most prominently when it comes to potential Ayton landing spots. Looking to not lose the No. 1 overall pick from the 2018 NBA Draft for nothing, they could engage in sign-and-trade talks with the Pacers.

The most logical return would be Myles Turner, as he could step into the starting center spot vacated by Ayton. While he may not have the same ceiling, he would make for a very intriguing addition to the Phoenix Suns.

Turner has shown that he is capable of more than just standing around the perimeter shooting 3-pointers. Playing with a point guard the caliber of Chris Paul could help unlock another level of his game that we have yet to see. His presence will also open things up for his teammates to attack the paint.

Defensively, Turner is more impactful than Ayton as well. While Ayton proved he can be a solid anchor for a unit, Turner is among the best in the business. He is an elite shot blocker and makes life difficult for opponents trying to score on him.

While swapping Turner for Ayton straight up would be seen as a bit of a disappointing return, it is better than losing him with no compensation. Turner is good enough to help keep the Phoenix Suns at the contending level they have ascended to.
