Anfernee Simons was signed recently, and can’t be traded until October 4th. Meanwhile, Shaedon Sharpe was recently drafted and can’t be traded until July 31st.

In other words, this trade won’t happen unless the Mitchell situation lingers. Perhaps the Knicks decide they aren’t willing to part with the necessary draft capital to land Mitchell.

The Miami Heat could figure that Tyler Herro has enough potential that they’d rather keep their assets than land him.
