This deal follows the same formula as the last one. It finds the Miami Heat trading Duncan Robinson along with their pick in the next draft in exchange for a useful veteran.

It’s a reasonable formula for this team to use. Getting value for Robinson without attaching a sweetener is likely to prove difficult.

With that said, the Heat shouldn’t be worried about their next first-round pick anyway. if they accomplish their goals, it’ll convey somewhere between 25 and 30. They’re trying to be one of the best teams in the NBA. Acquiring Bogdanovic could help them reach that goal.

There’s also a vacancy in the rotation for him. P.J. Tucker recently left South Beach to join the Philadelphia 76ers.

Granted, Bogdanovic isn’t the same level of a defensive player, but he’s a slightly more reliable floor-spacer and a significantly stronger shot creator.

If the Heat wanted a different look in 2022-23, Bogdanovic feels like a perfect fit.
