Charlotte Hornets Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – LAL)
Toronto Raptors Receive: F/C Anthony Davis, F/C P.J. Washington, G James Bouknight, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL)
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F/C Pascal Siakam, F Gordon Hayward
If the Los Angeles Lakers are looking for a complete facelift this season, this is the deal for them.
They may well be. Granted, it’s widely assumed that they’d trade Russell Westbrook if they could find a good deal for him. The notion of them trading Anthony Davis is a little more controversial.
It’s probably worth their time if they’re landing Pascal Siakam. Meanwhile, Gordon Hayward is a useful playmaking wing as well. Considering they won 33 games last year, it shouldn’t be a stretch to say that this deal would improve the Lakers in 2022-23.
As for the Hornets, they’re interested in cap clearing here. Their roster, as constructed, is too expensive in relation to its (lack of) success. Here, they land a pick swap and an expiring contract in exchange for Hayward.
Finally, the Toronto Raptors get a floor-spacing, defensively sound combo big in P.J. Washington and an intriguing young scoring guard in James Bouknight in exchange for Davis. This deal could work for all sides.

At the same time, the Hornets could decide that it’s not worth the risk of Westbrook stepping on Ball’s toes in 2022-23. In that event, we’ve got one more three-team deal that finds Siakam in the purple-and-gold.
