1. Miami Heat
The Miami Heat fell one game short of making it to the NBA Finals this season as they lost to the Boston Celtics, at home, in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. This roster is ready to contend even with the departure of P.J. Tucker, they just need a few tweaks here and there.
Replacing Tucker will be difficult, but the Heat have done a magnificent job in recent years unearthing diamonds in the rough. Duncan Robinson, Gabe Vincent, Max Strus and Omer Yurtseven are a few examples from last season’s roster.
Had Kyle Lowry been healthy, things could have been different as well. This is a very good roster and Pat Riley always has a few tricks up his sleeve. But, if there is one thing they should do, it is target some scoring.
Miami’s offense was sometimes very stagnant, especially when Jimmy Butler wasn’t in the game. Bringing a bucket getter the caliber of Carmelo Anthony into the fold would make a lot of sense.
Anthony could anchor the second unit along with Tyler Herro, combining for one of the most dangerous offensive duos off the bench in the NBA. Miami lacks scoring punch from their frontcourt, something Anthony would instantly change as well.

If the Miami Heat can swing a blockbuster trade this offseason as some people have predicted, they will need to round their roster out with players on veteran’s minimum deals. Anthony is someone they should certainly have on their list of potential targets.
