2. Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers made their big move ahead of the trade deadline by acquiring James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets. Things didn’t go according to plan in the postseason, so the front office got to work tweaking the roster around their superstars Joel Embiid and Harden.
They traded Danny Green and a first-round pick to bolster the backcourt, acquiring De’Anthony Melton from the Memphis Grizzlies. He will provide a boost as the second unit was lacking a lead playmaker with Tyrese Maxey filling the role more often than not as Doc Rivers would stagger his rotation.
The team also made a great addition by signing P.J. Tucker away from the Miami Heat. He has experience playing off of superstars and will fit in well as a defensive-minded, corner 3-point shooting specialist.
There is a chance the Philadelphia 76ers isn’t done making moves as Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle have both been involved in trade rumors. Whether or not they are moved, the Philadelphia 76ers could still use some help in the frontcourt and should make a call to Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony would upgrade the team’s second unit which lacked a go-to scorer in the postseason. Even at 38 years old, Anthony is more than capable of filling it up when given the chance. The series against the Miami Heat could have gone differently with someone such as Anthony playing in Georges Niang’s spot.
The Philadelphia 76ers had no one to rely on to score outside of Embiid, Harden, Harris and Maxey and need to change that. Having another person you can throw the ball to in the halfcourt to get a bucket, as Anthony is capable of, would help the Sixers immensely.
