OG Anunoby’s availability this summer has come into question. If he’s free for the taking, the Dallas Mavericks need to pounce.

Some rumors suggest that he is. It’s been alleged that Anunoby has grown dissatisfied with his role on the Raptors. Some speculate that with the emergence of Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes, Anunoby wishes he had the ball in his hands more.

If that’s not true, he’ll prove too ambitious a target for Dallas. Simply put, they don’t have the trade chips to pry Anunoby from the Raptors if they’re not shopping him.

On the other hand, if OG Anunoby is unhappy, he’s a distressed asset. In that event, his trade value lowers. If the Mavericks can buy even remotely low on Anunoby, they ought to consider making a move. His 3-and-D skill set coupled with some secondary shot creation chops would be a perfect fit for this roster.
