Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal

Realistically, it’s impossible to predict what the immediate future holds for this Brooklyn Nets team. On the other hand, it does feel obvious that neither Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant will be part of it.

Given Irving’s depreciated value, this may be a fair trade. We’d like to compare this deal to others that have been proposed for Irving, but truthfully, very few hypothetical offers are out there.

Once again, that speaks to the status of his value. With that said, Russell Westbrook and the Lakers’ 2027 First-Round Pick is one popular hypothetical deal. Are we sure this one isn’t better?

After all, Westbrook’s on-court woes have become well-established over recent years. A first-round pick does have value: does it have more than Powell and Kennard combined?
