They may have safer ones than this one. For all of his personal shortcomings, Irving is too talented a basketball player not to bring a quality offer or two in.
Having said that, it’s unlikely that any offer will raise their short-term ceiling as much as this one.
Let’s not forget who, up until recently, Anthony Davis was. When he’s healthy, he’s one of the best two-way big men in the NBA. This is a man who was routinely compared to Joel Embiid before injuries robbed him of the better part of two seasons.
