New York Knicks
In the case of the New York Knicks, the question isn’t “why should they pursue Kyrie Irving?”.
The question is, “why not?”. This Knicks organization has been irrelevant for the better part of 20 years.
Often, it feels like they’re banking on their market size attracting premium talent, even as it inevitably fails too. Arguably, they ought to add a player of Irving’s abilities whether he’s risky or not.
He’ll probably never come at a lower price either. The Knicks are flush with first-round picks. Given the Nets’ apparent discontent with Irving, a package revolving around Julius Randle, Cam Reddish and a first might be enough to land him.
