Toronto Raptors Receive: F Gordon Hayward, F Miles Bridges, 2023 First-Round Pick (DEN via CHA), 2025 First-Round Pick (CHA)
Charlotte Hornets Receive: F/C Pascal Siakam
This deal finds the Charlotte Hornets making that previously mentioned upgrade directly. They’d be signing-and-trading Bridges in return for Pascal Siakam.
With that said, whatever price Bridges commands in restricted free agency, it’s unlikely to match Siakam’s $35.4 million annual salary. The Raptors are taking back Gordon Hayward to make the money work here.
They could view that as a necessary evil, or an added bonus. The Raptors do love playmaking wings. Hayward could be a better fit alongside Barnes than Siakam: he’s a better floor-spacer who will generally expect fewer ball-handling reps.
Regardless, the Raptors are mostly involved for the sake of Bridges and two first-rounders here. If they’re interested in the athletic young forward, this is good value for them.
