Indiana Pacers Receive: G Spencer Dinwiddie, 2025 First-Round Pick (DAL)
Dallas Mavericks Receive: C Myles Turner
From the Indiana Pacers’ point of view, this deal is essentially Myles Turner for a first-round pick. In today’s buyer’s market, that’s good value.
The Dallas Mavericks can tell you that first-hand. They just acquired Christian Wood at the cost of the 26th overall pick in the draft and salaries.
Of course, Turner’s defense makes him more valuable than Wood. By the same token, the Pacers receive a more valuable pick here. An unprotected first-round pick, by the law of averages, is likely to convey higher than 26th overall.
Without question, that’s exactly the type of asset the Pacers will be looking for if they’re moving Turner this summer.

With that said, they may prefer not to take on a veteran salary in Dinwiddie unless it’s expiring. If that’s a hangup for the Pacers, these two teams may need a third team in order to make a deal work.
