Houston Rockets Receive: G Spencer Dinwiddie, G/F Josh Green
Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Eric Gordon, 2025 First-Round Pick (DAL)
Dallas Mavericks Receive: C Myles Turner

The Houston Rockets would only get involved here under two conditions. The first is that they’re more willing to absorb salary in order to acquire quality young players. The second is that they view Josh Green as a quality young player in the first place.

They ought to. Green is one of the most energetic young defensive wings in the NBA. His three-point stroke has been inconsistent during his brief time in the league to date, but for a rebuilding club like the Rockets, he’s worth a flier.

Meanwhile, Eric Gordon has a team option after next season. Look for the Pacers to decline it. He’s not likely to be worth his hefty salary to a team in their position. Still, this deal lands them a first-round pick while allowing them to maintain financial flexibility.

With that said, it may not work for Houston. They could view Dinwiddie’s pact as a hindrance much like the Pacers could. Unless they’re especially high on Green, it wouldn’t be a shock to see the Rockets pass on this trade.
