Bad Landing Spot: New York Knicks
Speaking of not moving the needle…
The New York Knicks have made a habit of acquiring veterans they don’t need over recent years. They seem to follow the same pattern every summer. They sign two or three veterans that would be helpful on a competitive team.
The issue is, that the Knicks are seldom competitive enough to let them be helpful. They keep putting the cart before the horse. This organization should let the rebuilding cycle take its natural course. Once they acquire a bonafide superstar, then they should start acquiring veterans like Harrison Barnes.
As it stands, the Knicks don’t have one. Landing Barnes will not do enough to improve on their disappointing 2021-22 season. It would be basically pointless.

The New York Knicks should break the cycle and focus on development this summer. They should stay away from veterans like Barnes.
