Houston Rockets Receive: F Cam Reddish
New York Knicks Receive: F Jae’Sean Tate, F David Nwaba
Last season, the Houston Rockets had the second-worst Defensive Rating in the NBA. Apparently, that fact was not lost on them. They walked away from the NBA Draft with two of the best perimeter stoppers in the class in Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason.
Is it possible that they’re not done switching up their frontcourt?
After all, Eason and Tate may be redundant. They’re both defensive-minded forwards who can dribble in the open court, and have questionable jump shots. If the Rockets are high enough on Eason, they could look to move Tate for a player with a slightly different profile.
Reddish certainly fits that bill. He hasn’t lived up to his vast potential in the NBA yet, but the Rockets are in a perfect position to take a swing on the talented 21-year-old.

Meanwhile, the Knicks get a more reliable, solid player in Tate. If they aim on staying competitive in 2022-23, that may be ideal for the organization.
