San Antonio Spurs Receive: G/F Evan Fournier, 2023 First-Round Pick (DET via NYK), 2023 First-Round Pick (DAL via NYK), 2024 First-Round Pick (NYK)
New York Knicks Receive: G Dejounte Murray
With this package, we’re sticking with the theme of point guards. This time, we’ve got the Knicks landing one who comfortably exceeds either Sexton or Brunson.
After all, Dejounte Murray broke out as a potential superstar in 2021-22. He practically averaged a triple-double, and played elite point-of-attack defense while doing it. The Knicks couldn’t ask for a better acquisition ahead of 2022-23.
At 25, he’s still young enough to be a building block. Furthermore, the Knicks have the draft capital to spare to make this work. Following this deal, they’d still have their own selection in the 2023 draft, and a protected one from the Washington Wizards.
In fact, if the Spurs ask for one more pick, the Knicks should still do it. That’s how ideal this package is for the Knicks.

On the other hand, maybe they’re not comfortable parting with so much draft capital. If that’s the case, this next, more modest trade may suit them.
