Bad Landing Spot: New Orleans Pelicans
Like the Cleveland Cavaliers, the New Orleans Pelicans are a team that’s just short of contention. Also like the Cavaliers, they may be looking to remedy that next season.
By that logic, targeting a player like Gordon would seem like a wise decision. For the New Orleans Pelicans, it may be. On the other hand, it doesn’t feel like a great spot for Gordon.
There are a couple of reasons for that. Firstly, this team’s depth chart doesn’t reveal a lot of room for Gordon. Between Brandon Ingram, Herb Jones, CJ McCollum and Trey Murphy III, the Pelicans are set for players that play the 2 and/or 3, as Gordon does.
Secondly, Gordon has been here before, and it didn’t go so well. Way back when Gordon played in New Orleans, he was plagued by injuries. During that time, he grew accustomed to getting booed by his home crowd in the Big Easy.

Something tells us those aren’t fond memories. If Gordon doesn’t want to revisit the Pelicans, he may want to steer clear of New Orleans.
