Still, those are an awful lot of ifs. It’s never ideal to be surrounded by so much uncertainty. When the Nets assembled their Big 3 of superstars last year, this is certainly not what they had in mind.

The salary cap logistics can be sorted out for both sides if they are willing to move some of their bigger contracts needed to make it work. Whether it’s Tim Hardaway Jr., Joe Harris, or Davis Bertans, to name a few examples.
It brings to mind another cliche. Something about the best-laid plans, and how often they go to waste. Is this deal a viable Plan B for the Nets?
