Portland Trail Blazers Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman, F Jonathan Kuminga
Golden State Warriors Receive: G Damian Lillard
To be clear, for the Golden State Warriors to land Damian Lillard this summer, Andrew Wiggins will almost certainly have to be dealt.
Unless, of course, the Warriors are willing to trade one of Klay Thompson or Draymond Green. We’d consider that unlikely. By now, those two have likely earned the right to retire in Golden State. Trading them would be bad business, and we know the Warriors don’t do bad business.
Meanwhile, Wiggins was a vital cog in their 2021-22 title run, but he doesn’t have the same seniority as Thompson and Green. The Warriors could trade him without being accused of treason.
With all that said, either side could balk at the inclusion of Kuminga here. The Blazers may not be willing to gamble so much on a fairly raw prospect, while the Warriors could see too much potential in him to part with him.
