Phoenix Suns Receive: C Myles Turner, G Malcolm Brogdon
Indiana Pacers Receive: C Deandre Ayton

It’s hard to imagine an Ayton-to-Indiana scenario that doesn’t involve Myles Turner.

The Phoenix Suns would likely insist on replacing Deandre Ayton, and since they’re acquiring him, the Indiana Pacers would likely oblige. They just finished up a long experiment with a twin towers formation between Turner and Domantas Sabonis. It’s hard to envision that Ayton and Turner could co-exist.

For the Suns, they’re thinking a little further ahead if they favor this package. Rather than acquiring Hield to complement their current core, they’re opting for Brogdon to eventually replace Chris Paul.

After all, Paul may remain the Point God, but he’s 36. At 29, Brogdon could provide the Suns with an elite sixth man next year, and slide into Paul’s spot with a few prime years left. He makes for an excellent contingency plan for Phoenix.
