Melo, Lakers Seek Same Goal: Winning a Championship
One of the things Carmelo Anthony does not have on his busy resume is a championship. Not having been named an NBA champion by this point of his career, this is something Anthony still desires to be a part of.
During Anthony’s NBA career, he had the playoffs in 13 years, including both of his years while in Portland in 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Anthony, who has not even reached the NBA Finals, made his closest run to the NBA Finals when he was with the Denver Nuggets and lost in seven games to the Lakers during the Western Conference Finals in 2009.
Anthony also reached the Eastern Conference Semifinals when the New York Knicks lost in six games to the Indiana Pacers during the 2013 playoffs, the same year he was the league’s scoring champion.
