1. Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons are not only a perfect fit for Shaedon Sharpe, but they’re also in an ideal position to acquire him. With the fifth-overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, it would make sense for the Pistons to take the prospect with the most star potential left after Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith Jr., Paolo Banchero, and Jaden Ivey are off of the board.
Last summer, the Pistons won the lottery and capitalized by selecting former Oklahoma State Cowboy Cade Cunningham. In his rookie year, Cade proved to be a capable offensive engine in this league someday and oftentimes already looked the part. Now, the Pistons just need to surround him with players worthy and talented enough to finish the plays that he creates for them.
In college, a huge knock against Cunningham was that he sometimes seemed passive, too willing to share the ball instead of forcing the issue as the team’s unquestioned top dog. While scouts wanted to see more aggressiveness out of him, it’s clear that he’s a selfless player who wants to make the best basketball play available at all times, a la LeBron James.
The Pistons adding a player with Shaedon Sharpe’s offensive repertoire and dogged mentality would be a perfect fit alongside Cunningham’s team-first, cerebral approach.

Cade also has the size necessary to cover the tougher defensive matchup in the case that Sharpe never becomes an equally effective talent on both ends of the court. Adding Sharpe’s explosive scoring next to Cunningham would greatly accelerate the Pistons’ rebuild.
