Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies officially arrived last season and proved themselves in the playoffs by taking the Western Conference Finalist Golden State Warriors to six games. In that series, the Grizzlies, their supporters, and NBA fans got the full spectrum of the Dillon Brooks experience.
Brooks has impressed in moments without Ja Morant, who was sidelined for the last three games due to injury, by taking and making tough shots, playing gritty defense, and overall keeping the Grizz confident and brash on and off the court.
He also constantly made head-scratching plays, committed terrible and borderline dirty fouls, and took some of the worst shot attempts seen on an NBA court this side of JR Smith’s career.
Brooks helped to usher in a new era of basketball for the Memphis Grizzlies once the Grit-n-Grind period came to pass. Now, though, Ja, Desmond Bane, JJJ, and the rest of the Grizz have outgrown Brooks’s highly variable and sometimes destructive game.
